Take the things you love about dub, dancehall, techno, hip-hop, filter it through one man's blank stare, and you get DeepSeeSoundSystem. Eric Hoegemeyer pulls the world within him out to make his unique dub-influenced music. Eric got his initial dance floor head games together programming beats and touring the world with Detroit techno legend Kevin Saunderson. He then quickly became a fixture at the best studios and dirtiest basements in Detroit, infamous for his stylish rhythms and unnerving stare. He's promoted legendary nights like the Love Club which frequently featured the DJs that made Detroit famous for its electronic music. He's also been a studio drummer for too many acts to count (or credit). He's done remixes and engineered more records than many folks have in their collection. DeepSeeSoundSystem is the thing he loves most. It's influenced by the Jamaican music he loves. It's influenced by the English verse he loves. It's informed by next-level developments like space travel and telepathic communication. It's made possible by all the tricks he developed while working with all those folks you read about in the papers.
